Question: What do you get when you cross a hot red Jaguar XK120 with an X140 and “Whistl at er?”

Answer: A “1st in Class” baby TR3A (see pictures below).

Submitted by Richard Lester from Lake Oswego, Oregon, who attended the show and the Whistler Run in his 1959 Triumph TR3A.

Richard Lester's 1959 TR3A won 1st in class at the 2015 Vancouver ABFM.

Paul Mascuch’s 1952 Jaguar XK120 open two seater (2nd in class 2015 VBC ABFM), Richard Lester’s TR3A (1st in class 2015 VBC ABFM), and Steve and Susan Blake’s 1955 Jaguar XK140 fixed head coupe (1st in class 2014 VBC ABFM). What a classy lot we were. It's remarkable how similar the lines of the TR3 is to the XK’s, and it is only when you put them side by side that you see how small the TR3 is in comparison.

 2015 Vancouver All-British Whistler Run

Mark Teasdale took some pictures of the cars driving back to Vancouver from Whistler. Teasdale pulled his car over after he saw a few go by and took photos for 30 mins. The photos are all slow shutter panning shots that are somewhat different than normal show shots.

Young Entrants recognized

Rhodri Windsor-Liscombe is one of the Vancouver ABFM’s roving judges, who, along with Kellen Voyeur, judges the 30 and Under ABFM entrants. At the 2015 Vancouver ABFM, there were 6 entrants aged 30 and Under (up from two in 2014).

The award went to Ian Weverink for his 1970 MG Midget.

Ian had been frantically working on his Midget with the goal of bringing it to the ABFM and, according to his father, it had been touch and go for the last two weeks prior to the show.  The Midget was insured and road tested the night before the show and Ian, along with his father, Paul, drove it from Anmore to the show at VanDusen.

Ian was very happy with the recognition he received for his Midget and after being in the company of close to 600 other British vehicles, he has become even more motivated to improve his car.
