{"id":2361,"date":"2011-03-15T19:53:10","date_gmt":"2011-03-16T02:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.westerndriver.com\/?p=2361"},"modified":"2011-03-15T19:58:58","modified_gmt":"2011-03-16T02:58:58","slug":"statement-regarding-status-of-japanese-earthquake-and-impact-on-nissan-americas-operations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westerndriver.com\/?p=2361","title":{"rendered":"Statement regarding status of Japanese earthquake  and impact on NISSAN Americas operations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>March 14, 2011 \u2013 Following the earthquake in Japan on March 11 Nissan   Americas has been working around-the-clock with its teams in Japan and  abroad to  assess the status of its employees and the impact on its  operations.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Facilities\/Production<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>All  Nissan Americas manufacturing facilities remain  operational and will continue  normal production schedules until further  notice.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In  total six of Nissan\u2019s facilities in Japan have reported some damage to their  buildings or equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Nissan\u2019s  Tochigi and Iwaki plants will suspend operations until Friday, March  18.<\/li>\n<li>Nissan\u2019s  Oppama, Kyushu, Shatai and Yokohama plants will suspend operations until  Wednesday, March 16.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vehicle  Stock \/ Sales Impact<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Nearly  70 per cent of the vehicles Nissan Americas sells in the  region are produced in  the region and manufacturing operations are  continuing to operate on a normal  schedule.<\/li>\n<li>In  general Nissan Americas is operating with a sufficient days\u2019  supply of vehicle  stock on the ground in the region or already in  transit from Japanese  ports.<\/li>\n<li>Some  Canada and U.S.-bound vehicles at the Port of Hitachi, Ibaraki  Prefecture and  other vehicles stored at the Miyagi Service Center  (Tagajo City, Miyagi  Prefecture) were damaged due to the earthquake  and\/or tsunami.<\/li>\n<li>Some  Infiniti models and Nissan GTR and 370Z may experience delays  in shipment to Canada and the  U.S., with full impact still being  assessed.<\/li>\n<li>A  shipment of more than 600 Nissan LEAF\u2019s destined for the U.S.  left port in Japan  on March 10, just prior to the earthquake, and will  arrive as scheduled.
