The journalists, all members of the Automobile Journalists Association of Canada (AJAC), were there for the express purpose of determining the Best New cars and SUV\/CUVs in 11 different vehicle categories as part of AJAC\u2019s annual Canadian Car of the Year Awards program.<\/p>\n<p>The four days of intensive, back-to-back testing and evaluation are known in the automotive industry as \u201cTest Fest.\u201d The results of the journalists\u2019 test-drive evaluations were as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New Small Car (under $21k)<\/strong>\u2014Ford Fiesta<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New Small Car (over $21k)<\/strong>\u2014Chevrolet Cruze<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New Family Car (under $30k)<\/strong>\u2014Volkswagen Jetta TDI Clean Diesel<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New Family Car (over $30k)<\/strong>\u2014Buick Regal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New Luxury Car (over $50k)<\/strong>\u2014BMW 5 Series Sedan<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New Prestige Car (over $75k)<\/strong>\u2014Porsche 911 Turbo S<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New Sports\/Performance Car<\/strong>\u2014Cadillac CTS-V Coupe<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New Minivan<\/strong>\u2014Toyota Sienna<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New SUV\/CUV (under $35k)<\/strong>\u2014Hyundai Tucson<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New SUV\/CUV ($35k-$50k)<\/strong>\u2014Ford Edge<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best New SUV\/CUV (over $50k)<\/strong>\u2014Volkswagen Touareg.<\/p>\n<p>The results were compiled by the international accounting firm, KPMG and kept confidential even from AJAC until they were announced at a press conference on October 29.
